Laser hair removal uses laser light pulses to destroy hair follicles by targeting the melanin in them. The damage the laser causes inhibits or delays future hair growth (this process is painless, with no downtime).
Laser hair removal is virtually painless. With that said, it can differ by skin type. Historically, laser hair removal is somewhere between shaving (painless) and waxing (horrible pain).
Like any medical treatment there are some side effects. The common include: swelling, redness, itching, or laser bumps. With proper care these should go away in one or two days.
Laser hair removal treatments can vary in time (few minutes to an hour) depending on the size of treatment and location. Before treatment, your clinician will ask you a couple medical-related questions. Once prepared, you will then be given protective eye wear. Once treatment has started, you just sit back and enjoy yourself. You will then be given special care instructions after treatment. RESULTS ARE IMMEDIATE!
Before your laser hair removal treatment you will be asked to stop shaving, waxing, and tweezing six weeks before your treatment. Additionally, you will be asked to avoid sun exposure and spray tans at least two weeks before your treatment.
